I find journaling a comfortable way to reflect on my day and to connect with my feelings and emotions. On the day-to-day, we may express our happiness or frustrations, but often times, addressing the event may not mean addressing the emotions associated with it.
Journaling can be a great way to give more space for ourselves and write thoughts and feelings out. Believe it or not, for many introverts writing is just a really good way to express themselves.
The introvert brain processes life more intensely — that’s not a weakness, it’s wiring. We take in more. We feel more. We reflect deeply. And while that’s a strength, it can also leave us feeling overstimulated and emotionally drained — especially in a world that rarely slows down.
Prioritizing quality sleep, nourishing food, and grounding movement helps bring our body back into balance — so your mind can reset, your emotions can settle, and your energy can return.
Balance isn’t found in pushing harder — it’s found in supporting your system so you can move forward with calm clarity.

Journaling prompt: Balanced Body for a Calm Mind
To support our mind and soul in reaching its full potential — to reflect, restore, and move forward with energy and courage — we need to check in with our body first. Let’s take a moment to notice how our body is doing, and consider how we can bring it back into balance. Small, intentional choices in our daily habits can help us feel better not only physically, but mentally and emotionally too. Here are your journaling prompts:
Close your eyes, take three deep breaths and slowly scan through your body. How does it feel at this very moment? Where do you notice uncomfortableness, tension or pain even? What can you do to release these feelings?
Let's focus on your sleep:
Looking back at the past week, how's your sleep pattern been? Have you had at least 7 hours of sleep every day? Have you been able to fall asleep fast or tossing and turning, have you woken up in the middle of the night? How did you feel in the morning: recharged or tired?
You have identified what may be sub-optimal in your sleep lately. What is one thing you can change to improve your sleep?
Moving on to nutrition. How's your last week looked like in terms of your diet? Enough veggies and fruits, only a few snacks and processed foods? Home-cooked dinners or take outs? How about soda and alcohol?
Which was the meal you enjoyed the most during the past week and why?
What's your relation to food when in stress?
What could you start doing to eat more healthy?
How about working out? What are your favourite types of sports? Not to watch, but actually do 😉
How consistently do you move?
How could you motivate yourself to exercise more? Maybe a training buddy, a reward, or just the type of activity you enjoy could help to build consistency.
What may be one small habit you can start as of next week to exercise more?
I hope answering these questions gave you some clues of how you can nourish your body more to improve your mental and emotional wellbeing. What is one takeaway from this journaling exercise?
